Wolfie Working Dogs is a non-profit inspired by our service dog huskies. The organization is founded by a group of dog lovers, allies and individuals with disabilities.
Service animals are an important medical need, but there are special challenges associated with their utilization, especially in the public. People are not aware of ADA rules, and many times can harass individuals with assistance dogs. Bridging the gap by educating the public on service dog laws is a goal of the organization.
The group is aware of the challenges in finding and training service dogs. Many programs have individuals waiting for years, or companies have higher costs than what individuals can afford. Many programs breed dogs for service placement and may not be unique for an individual’s needs. Moreover, there are many dogs in need of a home that would make excellent assistance animals. Our program aims to empower and educate individuals with disabilities about assistance dogs for living a more independent life by providing training support.
